Comparisons for Size and Colors ☆ Kindy 1
2023/06/12
Hello everyone, Kindy 1 Class here!
This past week was full of so many things, Toni was very proud of how quickly everyone picked up on our new activities.
For Math, we were fast to understand our new Sizes theme. We had an easy time comparing toys, so Toni had us measure against each other.
“Who do you think is taller? Can you tell?”
“Yes!”
As we tried to add more friends, we took a guess on our heights before we lined up.
“Who do you think will be shorter? Is there anyone else?”
“I know! Me!”
“Are you sure? Yeah, I think you’re right.”
There were some close measurements, for sure!
“Huh. Kindy 1, what do you think?”
“They are the same!”
“Yup, I think you’re right.”
Aside from easy Sizes, we tried a new challenge with our Colors. After we spelled some of our colors, we took on a first time challenge of coloring a picture by filling out the spaces with certain letters.
“What letter does Pink start with?”
“Pp!”
“Perfect! Go ahead and color in your P spaces, everyone. Hmm… I wonder what it’ll be.”
“If you are finished, please put your pencil on your head so I can see.”
“Toni, I’m finished!”
“Oh, good job. You guys are coloring so nicely.”
This was a great time to practice holding our pencils. Most of us are okay, but there are still a few of us who still need a little help. We were so focused though, we really wanted to see what our picture was going to be..
After going over more phonics and letters, we tried a harder coloring picture.
“We’re going to go pretty fast, so listen carefully. Are you ready?”
“Yes we are!”
This picture was so much harder, so we didn’t go through all the colors yet. ^.^’
But we did our best and we had fun!
Good job, Kindy 1! We have a lot of activities we want to do again and again, don’t we? You’re all so good at size comparisons already, and you’re still doing so well with recognizing your letters and holding your pencils. Toni and Ari are so proud! Keep up the hard work, and let’s have another great week together!
