Back to Our Routine! ☆ Kindy 1

Hello from Kindy 1! 

We all had a great summmer vacation! When we got back, we told each other about what special activities we did and the places we went. But, we were also really excited to go back to school. We still have so much to do this month.

Since we've gotten so good at recognizing ABC's and single phonics, this week we've been trying to read some three-letter words! We go letter-by-letter, identifying it and then identifying the sound that it makes. Then, we put the sounds together so we can read the word. We LOVE being able to sound out all the letters. It is so cool to see how much we've improved at recognizing letters and remembering their sounds since the beginning of the year. We  can't wait to read more!

Of course, we've also gotten back to learning how to write our ABC's. We feel so proud of ourselves for trying our best even when it's difficult. This week, we learned how to write "L."

We can hold pencils really well now. Our practice is definitely paying off!

We've also been reviewing everything we've learned up until now, including ocean animals, personal hygeine, shapes, numbers up until 200, and much more. This week, we reviewed some science we've learned by playing the "sleeping animals" game, pretending to move and sound like our favorite animals.
