Sports Day Prep and Play Dough Creations: Active Bodies, Creative Hands ☆Kindy 2
2025/01/17
Hello family and friends,
This week, our class focused on developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through creative play. We used play dough as a tool to shape and mold various objects, such as bananas, apples, and stars. This activity not only promoted creativity but also taught the children how to manipulate simple objects to create something completely new.
Activities that involve manipulatives, such as shaping play dough, are vital for developing fine motor skills, hand strength, and coordination. Many daily tasks, such as writing, cutting, and buttoning clothes, require these skills as a foundation. It’s also fun!
This week, we also started getting ready for our upcoming Sports Day! To get ready for the event, Kindy 2 has been practicing running, jumping, and other fun activities. The benefits of these exercises go beyond just building physical strength and coordination, as they also promote teamwork, perseverance, and a positive outlook.
As we prepare, we’ve also been learning about the importance of sportsmanship. Kindy 2 have been practicing how to cheer for their friends, take turns, and show kindness whether they win or lose. These lessons help us build a supportive and respectful environment, where everyone feels encouraged to do their best and have fun.
It’s been heartwarming to see kindy 2 celebrate each other’s efforts and understand that the joy of participating is just as important as the outcome!
Thank you for reading about our classroom adventures! We look forward to sharing more fun moments with you! See you next week!
