Space and Surveys! ☆ Kindy 1
2025/02/12
Greetings from Kindy 1!
This month, we've been learning so many new things and having an absolute blast while doing it! For our Science cirriculum, weve started learning about space. Now we know that there are eight planets in our solar system, the planets revolve around the Sun, and we live on Earth! Pretty cool, huh?
To help us get a good idea of how things work all the way up in space, we've been watching some educational videos. It's so interesting to learn how the planets are different from each other. Some of us even want to become astronauts, so we can fly up on a rocketship and see Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn for ourselves!
“I want to go to Saturn! The rings look so pretty!”
“Well I want to go to Mars. It is red and my favorite color is red!”
To help us remember all the names of the planets, and how close they are to the Sun, we learned a new song and dance! It is so much fun to practice.
For math this month, we've been doing our very own surveys! We talked about the importance of surveys and what they can tell us about a group of people. Plus, it's great practice asking each other questions. This week, we did a survey on our favorite fruits and animals. We took turns asking our table groups questions, and then we counted up all of answers at the very end.
Together, we found out that most of Kindy 1 likes strawberries and cats the best!
And of course, we've been practicing our reading skills every day. We love using red or blue markers to circle words on the whiteboard, and we REALLY love learning double phonics.
That's it for now! Thanks for tuning in, and we'll talk to you soon! ☺
