Birds, Birds, Birds! ☆ Kindy 3
2025/05/12
Hello, everyone!
Today in our class, we learned all about birds!
We began by learning the names of different birds, and then we talked about what makes each one special. We looked carefully at pictures of birds and thought about what they do or eat.
For example:
"This bird has webbed feet—it must be good at swimming!" 🦆
"This bird has a big, sharp beak and claws—it must eat meat or fish!" 🦅
"This bird is small with a tiny beak—it probably eats bugs or seeds!" 🐦
After that, we played some games. First, the kids walked around the classroom and looked for a bird flashcard that matched what I called out.
"Can you find a bird that eats meat?"
'I know! A vulture!'
'An eagle!'
'An owl!'
"Then next, can you find a bird that doesn't eat meat?"
'A hummingbird!'
'A kiwi bird!'
"Good job! How about a bird that can swim?
'A seagull!'
'A goose!'
"Wow, okay, last one. Please find a bird that lives in Japan."
'A sparrow!'
'A crow!'
Everyone did a great job finding the matching birds and even helped their friends who were having trouble.
After that, we played another quick and fun game — a bird hunt! Lots of little bird pictures were hidden around the classroom in tricky spots and the kids had to look for them.
'Where are they?...'
After everyone had found a bird, we went back to our spots and shared the names of the birds we discovered. Now we all know a little more about birds and their names in English—and we had so much fun learning them!
