Little Explorers at the Zoo ☆ Kindy 2!
2025/05/28
Hello family and friends,
We’re excited to share some special moments from our recent trip to Higashiyama Zoo! This experience was not only enjoyable but also deeply connected to our current studies on animals. It provided a meaningful opportunity for the children to observe wildlife up close, make real-world connections to what we've been learning in class, and deepen their understanding through curiosity!
The excitement began even before we arrived at the zoo, the bus ride itself was a highlight for many of Kindy 2. Riding together gave us a chance to talk about what we were looking forward to seeing, sing some favorite songs, and enjoy the sense of adventure that comes with going somewhere new as a group. It was a wonderful way to build anticipation and strengthen the sense of community in our class.
During our visit, we had the chance to observe a wide variety of animals, including elephants, Komodo dragons, seals, and penguins. Seeing these animals up close was a valuable experience. Kindy 2 was so happy and excited, noticing how the seals moved smoothly through the water, how the penguins waddled as they walked, and just how large the Komodo dragon really was. These quiet moments of observation helped Kindy 2 connect what they've learned in class to the real world, making the experience both meaningful and memorable. And of course...it was so much fun!
One of the most exciting moments of the day was seeing a real emu!! This was especially meaningful, as we've recently been learning about emus in class. The children were eager to compare the emu at the zoo to what we’ve talked about. This was so special and morable for our class!
Field trips like this one enrich our curriculum by offering hands-on learning in a new environment. We hope the experience encourages continued interest in animals, nature, and the world around us.
We hope you enjoyed seeing a bit into our fun experience! See you next week!
