A Math Mystery ☆ Kindy 3

Hello, everyone.

Recently in Kindy 3, we’ve been practicing our addition and subtraction skills. We’re getting better at double-digit addition, like 24 + 33. Since adding numbers for a long time can get a little boring, we made it more exciting by doing a math scavenger hunt!

First, we solved problems on our worksheets to find numbers. Each number from 10 to 35 matched a letter of the alphabet. By solving the problems, Kindy 3 students decoded secret words. These words gave clues about places in the classroom where they could find stamps to show they had completed the puzzle.

We did the puzzles in teams, but everyone helped to solve some of the math questions along the way.

There were a lot of math questions to complete, but everyone stayed focused because they really wanted to solve the puzzles. Each team made sure all their members had the answers to the hint before running off to search for the secret stamps.

Once we found the hint, it was time to go find the stamps!

"We found it first!"

"The hint is 'EARTH'. It must be over here!"

"This one spells 'BOOKS'!"

"Here it is!"

"Let's stamp it together!"

Every team collected all four stamps hidden around the classroom. I was really impressed to see everyone trying their best to solve the math problems on their own. It was also wonderful to see the students who finished first working hard to help their teammates finish too.

Kindy 3 are all getting much better at adding big numbers, but we still have a long way to go. Soon, we’ll be working on adding even bigger and more challenging numbers!
