The Animal Adjective Adventure☆ Kindy 2
2025/07/30
Hello Family and Friends!
This week in Kindy 2, we’ve been exploring the world of animals through science and language! As part of our science lesson, Kindy has been learning to observe and describe animals using adjectives. This helps them build both their vocabulary and their ability to classify and talk about the world around them.
What kind of skin or body covering does it have? Is it scaly, furry, or hairy?
How big or small is it? Is it tall, short, or long?
What colors do you see?
Does it have patterns? Is it spotted, striped?
For our activity we focused on common pets and animals the children are familiar with, like cats, giraffes, and snakes.
A colorful snake with shiny scales!
An orange cat!
A tall giraffe with spots!
Why is this important?
This activity isn’t just about drawing animals. It’s about building essential thinking and language skills. Through this science based lesson, Kindy 2:
- Practiced using descriptive language
- Learned how to classify animals by features
- Gained confidence in speaking about their ideas
- Connected science, language, and art in a meaningful way
It’s always so much fun to see how science and language can come together in our classroom. Great job, Kindy 2!
We hope you enjoyed our weekly blog and our special art! See you again next week!
