Foamy Rainbow Fun! ☆ Small Kids

Foamy Rainbow Fun! ☆ Small Kids

2025/08/05

Hello family and friends!

We did an exciting sensory art experience with foamy rainbow bubbles.

We began by watching the teacher make the foam using warm water and a few squirts of shampoo. Then we helped whisk everything together to create a big bowl of fluffy bubbles.

Next, our teacher added drops of food colouring (red, yellow, green, and blue) transforming the white bubbles into a bright and beautiful rainbow. Some of us could even point and name the colours, calling out “blue!” or “yellow!”

At first, not everyone was sure about touching the foamy bubbles. Some of us watched our friends have a try first and felt more confident when we saw them having fun.

It felt so soft between our fingers and slippery on our palms. We spread the foam onto large pieces of paper, using our hands to paint and stamp. There were colourful handprints everywhere, and we loved the feeling of pressing into the bubbles and watching the colours mix.

Some of us gently dabbed the foam with their fingertips, while others liked to put their whole hands in. Our teachers asked us, “How does it feel?” We heard words like “wet,” “soft,” and “bubbly,” and some of us tried repeating the new words too.

Some of us clapped our hands together and the bubbles ended up on our faces. We thought this was very funny!

After a while, our rainbow had mixed into only one colour. One became mostly red, while another turned into only green. We were interested to see what new colors we could make.

This activity supported our sensory development, color recognition, and language skills and was so much fun! We can't wait to do it again!
