Start the Day with Us! ☆ Small Kids

Hello family and friends!

Can you believe it’s already September? We’ve welcomed some new friends into our class, so we thought it would be the perfect time to share our morning routine with you all!

When we arrive at school, we hang up our towels and wash our hands.

Next, we unpack our bags.

“Bye-bye bluebook!”

“Bye-bye drink bottle!”

“Bye-bye lunch set!”

We then put our bags away in our cubbies. “Bye-bye bag!” At the start of the week, we also clip our orange hats into our cubbies.

Next, we put on our shoes all by ourselves. If we need help, we practice asking. “Help, please.”

Once we’re ready, we can play on the mat with toys like trains, blocks, puzzles, and more. While we’re playing, the teacher calls us one by one to do our CST (Classroom Speaking Time). We listen for the teacher to say, “It’s ___’s turn!” This week we are practicing:  “What is your name?” → “My name is ___.” We use actions to help us remember too!

After CST, we get to choose a sticker for our bluebook. Then we stick it in carefully, “stick, stick, stick!” and give our teacher a big high-five before it’s the next friend’s turn.

When we hear, “It’s time to tidy up!” we all help clean the toys and get ready for our lesson by sitting on the mat nicely.

Our lessons are full of songs, games, and learning. We practice the days of the week, weather, colors, numbers, alphabet, and a monthly theme. This month, we are learning all about fruits! 

We are so proud of our Small Kids! We love spending time together and most importantly having fun!
