Measuring with Scales: A Math Adventure ☆ Kindy 2

Hello family and friends, 

This week in Kindy 2, we have been learning all about weight. We explored the difference between grams and kilograms and talked about when we would use each one.

The students used scales to weigh different items from around the classroom. Before weighing each object, they made guesses about whether it would be heavy or light and which scale would be best to use. There was lots of laughter as some of their predictions were spot on… while others were very surprising!

They loved being hands on with the scales and quickly became curious. Kindy 2 started looking around the classroom for new and interesting things to weigh. Some even wanted to weigh bigger items and themselves in order to better understand kilograms compared to grams.

It was wonderful to see their excitement and enthusiasm throughout the lesson!

Learning became even more meaningful as they explored, questioned, and discovered together. 

We are so proud of how engaged and eager they were to learn! This was a fun lesson!
