Let's sound out words! ☆ Kindy 1

This month in phonics, Kindy 1 have started to learn how to read words!!
To learn new words and how to read them, we have been revisiting our phonics gestures and flashcards, and are starting to read with teachers during lesson or during our library time.
We are also using our phonics knowledge to sound out 3-4 letter words and write them in our new Phonics Workbooks!
So far Kindy 1 have been working very hard and been writing carefully and neatly!
First, we trace and write ABC letters to practise, then we trace words that have missing letters (for example; _and). We then need to find what letter is missing, so if the word is Hand, we are missing a H!
We write in the missing letter, then all together sound the word out using our phonics knowledge, so H-A-N-D!
Kindy 1 have been doing fabulously so far, and hopefully soon they can start to use these new skills to read at home with our library books!
