Our Reading Journey ☆ Kindy 2!

Hello Kindy 2 family and friends, 

This year in Kindy 2, we have seen incredible growth in Kindy 2's reading skills. From learning to recognize letters and sounds to confidently reading books, Kindy 2 has made so much progress on their reading journey. It has been deeply meaningful to watch their confidence grow as they realize, “I can read!”

We have also placed a strong focus on developing independence in reading. During our independent reading time, students read the books they chose and apply the skills we have been practicing in class. Over the year, we have seen so much progress as many students have transitioned from simple texts to more challenging books with greater and complex vocabulary. 

As their reading skills have strengthened, their confidence has grown as well. Kindy 2 is reading more fluently, using strategies to decode unfamiliar words, and read with greater understanding.

Seeing their pride as they read independently and realize their own progress has been a deeply meaningful part of our year. They are truly incredible!
