Learning about Plants and Calendars ☆ Kindy 3

Hello, everyone,

This month in Kindy 3, we have been working hard and having lots of fun while learning about plants and calendars in our science and math lessons.

Last week, we went outside with Kindy 2 and planted some mixed lettuce seeds together. Everyone has really enjoyed watching the seeds sprout and asks to check on them every single day. We are taking turns watering them and are excited to see how quickly they will grow.

We have learned how plants grow, what each part of the plant is called and what it does, and the life cycle of a plant. Here we are enjoying drawing and coloring the different stages of a plants life.

For math, we have also been learning about ordinal numbers and how to write them. For example, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.... and so on. We also learned how to read and write calendars and many of the special days and holidays throughout our year.

We made a calendar for the month of our birthdays by ourselves, to practice writing all the ordinal numbers and understand better how to read a calendar. We learned some months will start on a Wednesday, while others might start on a Friday. Tomorrow, we will learn how many days are in each month of the year and a really easy way to remember them by using our hands.

It was very impressive to see how neatly and quickly everyone in the class could fill in their calendars and write numbers. Each day, everyone is trying their best to do beautiful work and write as neatly as possible. Keep it up, Kindy 3!
