Practicing our Soccer Skills! ☆ Kindy 3
2026/08/05
Hello, everyone!
This month, we are focusing on practicing kicking as part of our physical development. What better way to practice kicking, than by playing soccer? So, today, we went to the gym to work on our soccer skills!
First, partnered up to practice kicking and stopping the ball. We learned how to use the inside of our feet to kick the ball and practiced stopping and controlling the ball by using the inside of our feet, or stepping on the ball.
It's a simple activity, but it's still so much fun!
Next, we practiced dribbling! We dribbled the balls around the gym, doing our best to control the ball and keep it as close as possible to our feet.
It's surprisingly fun, also!
Now we had gotten some practice in, we could play a game. We played 'Red Light, Green Light' with our soccer balls. When we heard, “Green light!” we dribbled our balls toward the other side of the gym. When we heard, “Red light!” we had to stop the ball with our feet and freeze. If we lost control and our ball rolled away, or if we lost our balance, we had to return to the starting line. This was a great way to practice our dribbling, ball control and balance!
Lastly, we did a short soccer obstacle course to put all of our new soccer skills together. We dribbled the ball between the cones, made our way through the mat maze, and finished by taking a shot at the goal.
We had a lot of fun practicing our soccer skills in the gym. We are all excited for our next soccer lesson, where we will play more fun soccer games!
