Painting Together ☆ Kindy 3
2026/08/19
Hello, everyone!
This week, we enjoyed a fun group painting activity together in our classroom. We painted a park filled with plants and birds—two of our science themes this year.
The main goal of the activity was simply to have fun with painting while practicing some basic painting skills. We worked on holding and using our paintbrushes carefully, choosing colors, and painting without mixing all of our colors together.
First, we drew some pictures of plants and birds and colored them in. We thought about the different parts we had learned about and tried to include them in our drawings. Then, we tried to paint the same pictures with paint and brushes on a large canvas.
Here are some photos of us having fun!
"I'll paint a sunflower."
"I'm painting a rose bush!"
On Monday, we drew our plants in the park. Today, we drew lots of different birds!
Many, many penguins!
A pigeon!
Two hummingbirds!
Our big painting 😊
It's not quite finished yet. Next week we will add labels to our pictures and use some of the science vocabulary we have learned throughout the year. We will be labeling parts such as stems, leaves, petals, trunks, branches, wings, beaks, and claws.
We are looking forward to finishing our artwork and showing what we have learned about plants and birds!
