Occupations ☆ Kindy 2

In September, we have been learning all about different occupations and what each occupation's role is. This has been a very exciting theme for Kindy 2. 

We discussed many different occupations, what each of them do, what role they have in the community, and what uniform or clothes they wear. The children were excited to learn about occupations they already knew of, as well as some occupations they had not heard of before, such as "carpenter" and "reporter". Each of the children were given multiple opportunities to think about what they would like to be and what they would like to do for their job one day. After a lot of discussion, the children got to draw their dream occupation, and then write "I want to be a ...". 

Finally, the best part of this theme was an activity where the children got to dress up as different occupations and pretend to be a Fireman, Police Officer, Doctor, Astronaut, Chef, and more. The children really enjoyed this part, and found it exciting to feel what it's like to wear the different uniforms.
