Discovering Continents and Oceans ☆ Kindy 3

Hello, everyone.

Today in class we learned all about our world. We reviewed the directions North, East, South, and West (Never Eat Spicy Wasabi). We learned about the equator, which is the hottest part of the Earth, and the North and South Poles, which are the coldest parts. We reviewed the seven continents and five oceans, and then we practiced writing their names on a map.

Everyone worked really hard to color neatly. We tried to give each continent a different color so it’s easy to see where one ends and the next begins. 

Then we had a little quiz, racing to find each of the continents on our maps as quickly as we could.

"Okay, everyone. Please point to..... South America!"

"I found it!"

“Alright, here’s a tricky question: Which continent is west of North America?”
“Fold your paper around in a circle and you’ll see!”

"It's Asia!"

We had a little extra time before lunch, so we tossed our Earth ball around and quizzed each other on the continents and oceans.

With seven continents and five oceans, there are many tricky words and names to learn, so it’s not always easy to remember them all. However, everyone is doing well and learning more every day. I’m sure we’ll soon be able to name them all!
