Growing Our Own Food ☆ Kindy 2

For science this month, Kindy 2 got to experience planting and eating their own food. We discussed what plants need to grow, how we need to look after them, and then finally got to eat our produce. It was a very exciting process for the children to get to see how we grow our food from seeds, and checked everyday to see how much it had grown. 

From planting the lettuce seeds, to watering and taking care of it to make sure it grows, to finally and carefully picking it. 

Some children were very excited, and when the teacher asked how much they would like to eat, they said "I want to eat a lot", and others said "I only want to try 1 leaf". 

Finally! We got to eat the lettuce that the children grew themselves. We added a delicious dressing, and everyone enjoyed the rewards of our project together.
