Kindy 1: Learning Shapes is Out of This World!
2026/05/19
This week in Kindy 1, we explored shapes and colours through a rocket ship craft activity! The children used different shapes such as circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles to build their very own rockets while practicing shape recognition.
We talked about the names of the shapes and identified lots of colours including red, yellow, blue, green, orange, and purple. The children pointed to each shape and carefully placed them onto their sheets.
To make our rockets blast off into space, the children practiced ripping tissue paper into small pieces to create fiery rocket flames. This activity helped develop fine motor skills, finger strength, and hand-eye coordination. After ripping the tissue paper, the children used glue sticks to carefully stick the flames onto their artwork.
It was wonderful to see the children concentrating and creating. Everyone worked very hard and had lots of fun learning through art and hands-on play.
Go go Kindy 1!
