From Seeds to Salad ☆ Kindy 3
2026/05/20
In April, Kindy 3 learned all about plants! We studied the different parts of a plant, how plants grow from a seed, and what they need to grow healthy and strong.
To help bring our learning to life, we planted mixed lettuce seeds outside together.
Have a look!
First, we added soil to the pot.
Next, we planted the seeds.
When we were finished, we watered them in.
↓Very exciting dirt 😄↓
Every day, we took turns watering them and watched them grow in the classroom — from tiny seeds, to little sprouts, to healthy baby lettuce plants with big green leaves.
Pretty soon, they were ready to eat!
We had so much fun pulling them out by the roots!
We went back inside and teachers washed the lettuce well. Now we could eat it with salad dressing!
Yummy!
Everyone tried some, and most people even asked for a second bowl! It was really surprising to see everyone enjoy a vegetable so much! We had a lot of fun learning all about growing plants and where the food on our table comes from, and we even got to enjoy eating it at the end. It was a really good experience for all of us! Please continue to eat lots of vegetables, Kindy 3!
