Learning the Pianica! ☆ Kindy 3
2026/06/03
Hello, everyone!
Yesterday in Kindy 3, we picked up our pianicas for the first time. It was time to practice!
The first thing we did, is learn where to place our fingers. It's important to practice using all five fingers on a hand, instead of just one finger to press each note. We also learned the correct way to hold the mouthpiece in our mouths. After we got the hang of that, we practiced playing some notes, and controlling the volume.
Here are some pictures!
Soon, we tried to learn a song together called 'Hot Cross Buns'. It was a big challenge to play a song as a class, especially since it was our first time using a pianica. However, by the end of the lesson, we were able to play it quite well!
Everyones hand placement was really good! After a little practice, the song was also sounding really good, and we were able to play at the same rhythm.
Finally, it was time to tidy up, which meant cleaning our pianicas and putting them away properly.
Everyone in Kindy 3 enjoyed playing the pianica so much that, after the lesson had finished, many of the children came up to me and asked if we could play the pianica again the next day!
