Journal Writing ☆ Kindy 3

Journal Writing ☆ Kindy 3

2026/06/17

Hello, everyone!

As you know, Kindy 3 went on a field trip to Nagoya Science Museum last Friday. We had a great time exploring the museum, learning lots of new things, and spending time with our friends. There were so many fun things to see and play with.

Some of our favorite parts of the museum were seeing the giant dinosaur skeleton, playing the running games together and exploring the big play area on the second floor!

Well, this week, Kindy 3 sat down to write about their experience at the museum in a journal style. Writing may not be the most exciting activity for the children, but it is an important skill, and we spend a lot of our time at IKA working on our writing abilities. Kindy 3 worked hard to remember their favorite parts of the trip and put their thoughts into sentences.

They are all up on the wall in Kindy 3 for everyone to come and take a look!

Journal writing is a great way to practice handwriting, sentence building, drawing, and coloring. Since the finished journals will go on the wall, everyone always tries their best to make them look really nice.

In order to make them look as nice as possible, we always write a draft first in our IKA notebooks.

After teachers check the writing, we can do our final copy on a journal page. We copy everything we wrote as neatly as possible and then draw our best picture of the field trip.

Even when they are asked to do something that may not seem as fun or exciting as other activities, such as journal writing, Kindy 3 always tries their best and works hard to produce good work. Thanks to their good attitude and effort, their skills continue to improve as they grow and learn. Well done, Kindy 3!
