Speed and Time ★ Kindy 2

This month our Kindy2 theme for maths is Speed ​​and Time. So far we have learned vocabulary such as o'clock, 30 minutes past, slow, slower, slowest, fast, faster, fastest. Learning how to tell time is an important skill to learn, as well as the concept of speed and time combined. 

First, we focused on taking turns to set the time and then decide what time it was together. We practiced using full sentences like "what is the time?" And "the time is...". 

After we practiced how to tell time on the hour and half hour, we learnt about the difference between slow, slower and slowest, as well as fast, faster and fastest. The children took turns having a chance to control the speed of which everyone else was running on the spot. This took great control, but the children were really good at being able to control their speed and had great fun.

The next step will be learning how to tell time using 15 minute intervals. An exciting time for Kindy2!
