Origami Dogs in Japanese Lesson!
Kindy 1 is studying lots of things in English. We are studying recycling: paper, plastic, cardboard and metal. Kindy 1 is also studying body parts: head, knees, arms, legs, fingers, and everything head to toe! In math we are learning to read the classroom clock.
So the kids really love when they have Japanese with Erika! 
They learn their hiragana, and summer festival dance, so many things. This week Erika taught everyone how to make an origami dog!
Everyone sat nicely around the table and got brown paper to make their dog. We know not to touch the paper till teacher says, so we keep our hands in our laps.
First everyone was taught how to fold the head and ears. All you do is fold the paper in half from corner to corner. After that you fold the two long corners down to make the ears.
When the kids had their head and ears folded for their dog, next was the nose! Everyone folded the bottom of the triangle up to make a cute nose or their dog. Topped off with a black sticker!
Our final touch, drawing on the face! Kindy 1 got to use their pencils to draw on a face for their dog! They drew eyes, eyebrows and whiskers on them.
All finished!
Everyone had so much fun making their origami dog! They were all so cute and they can't wait for the next craft they get to do.
