Can you make a happy face Jack-o'-lantern 🎃 ☆ Small Kids

Welcome back to another week of fun with small kids 😁 

It's starting to get spooky at IKA with Halloween! And what's a great way to get into the Halloween spirit? Making a Jack-o'-lantern 🎃 

Before we make our Jack-o'-lantern we need to first see what we have to do.

Do you know how to carve a pumpkin? Where do we start first? 

Well let's find out together ☺️

Now we know what we have to do let's meet our pumpkin for Small kids! 

Does it look like a Jack-o'-lantern? Oh no, it doesn't! 

First we have to cut the top open to get to the gooey insides. Only teachers can do this part as we have to use a knife so everyone please wait ❤️

Now that the top is open and the knife is put away safely, we now need your help!

We need to get the gooey insides out and the only way to do that is to get our hands inside the pumpkin and scoop it out so let's get messy! 😁

Do you like the feeling of the pumpkin gooey, slimy insides?

You all did so well! Thank you for your help ☺️ 

The inside of our pumpkin is nice and clear so now all that's left is to carve out the face. 

Hmm what face shall we give our pumpkin? Silly face? Scary face? I think a cute happy face! 😁

Now that our Jack-o'-lantern is finished do you want to play with the gooey, slimy insides? 😁 do you like how it feels between your fingers?

I love our pumpkin! You all did amazing, the face we picked turned out so well 🎃 Everyone say hello to the new member of our Small Kid's class, Jack-o'-lantern 😁
