Spooky jack-o'-lanterns with Kindy 1 🎃

It is almost spooky time, October is around the corner. So for Japanese lesson, Kindy 1 started making jack-o'-lanterns! 🎃 Though not with real pumpkin but with paper 📜, pencil ✏️ and paint 🎨.

All of Kindy 1 got a white paper pumpkin. Erika asked all the kids to take their crayons and scribble on them 🖍️🖍️🖍️. They could use any color they wanted!  The crayon will show through the paint a little so they needed to make lots of big scribbles and shapes. 🖍️🎨

Once everyone finished with their crayons 🖍️, they could start painting! Everyone made two lines so they could paint their pumpkins orange! 🧡 🧡 🧡 

When they painted the pumpkins, everyone noticed that they could see the crayon ! The paint didn't like the crayon as much as the paper so the paint didn't stick as much. 🎨 🫟. But now we have to wait for them to dry! So Kindy 1 put their pumpkins on the shelf so they can dry for another day. 

Kindy 1 can't wait to see what their jack-o'-lanterns will look like when they finish! We will add faces next time, how exciting! Have you ever made a real jack-o'-lantern? Was it fun?
